Hanoi's renowned Water Puppetry Show portrays the history & culture of Vietnamese villagers.
Dating back to the 11th century, it brings folklore to life via unique dance & musical performances, including a fire breathing dragon & such mythical creatures as unicorns.
What's unique about this show is that the stage is made of a pool of water. Puppeteers, usually eight in number, hide at the back of a bamboo screen as they control the puppets to make them move according to the music.
The renowned Thang Long Water Puppet show is considered to be one of the cultural highlights of Northern Vietnam, dating back to a tradition that first started in the Red River Delta.
After the show, a delicious dinner of Cha Ca Thang Long with Bia Ha Noi will follow.
Cha Ca is a flavorful white fish skillfully prepared & served with fresh greens, rice noodles & saffron oil while Bia Ha Noi is Vietnam's very own Lager style beer that perfectly complements the spicy flavors of the fish.
