In the afternoon, visit the breathtaking stupa of Wat Visoun & the shrine of Wat Aham & Wat Mai.
The Wat Visoun is home to a small but impressive variety of elaborately gilded Buddhas & numerous 15th century stones. Apart from this, the temple boasts of unique architectural features such as its lotus shaped stupa & European style roof.
At the Wat Aham you'll find a large gilded Buddha seated on an extravagantly decorated pedestal surrounded by smaller but equally stunning statues. There are many colorful murals too, that tell stories of the Buddha's previous lives as well as gruesome depictions of life in Buddhist hell.
The Wat Mai is the largest & most richly decorate temple of Luang Prabang located right next to the National Museum. It's a must-see not only for its sheer size but also for its unparalleled grandeur & stunning architecture.
After exploring Luang Prabang's most famous temples, take in the panoramic sunset view of the city as you climb the peak of Mount Phousi then cap everything off with a quick jaunt to the Night Market, where you can pick up unique souvenirs of your memorable trip to Luang Prabang.
