The Royal Palace Museum hosts a range of interesting & rare artifacts including centuries old religious objects, weapons, statues, screens & paintings. The crown jewels of Laos can be found inside the mirrored Throne Hall while the garage showcases the last King's impressive collection of cars. In another area, a more recently constructed pavilion holds the 2000 year-old Prabang Buddha, which is made of solid gold.
The next stop, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its intricately carved wooden doors & roof sweeping low to the ground, represents classical Laotian architecture.
Other points of interest on this tour is the stunning Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, Wat Mai as well as Lao tribal minority groups such as the Hmong village at Ban Ouay & the Khmu village at Ban Thapene.
Last stop is the Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim or a quick nature walk. Expect to be back at Luang Prabang by early evening.
