This tour will take you to one of Angkor's most iconic temples - the jungle ruins of Ta Prohm. Visiting it is considered by many as the fulfillment of the ultimate Indiana Jones fantasy, with its crumbling towers & gigantic walls embraced by huge towering trees that are several decades old.
If the world famous Angkor Wat is a testimony to the genius of the ancient Khmers, Ta Prohm on the other hand is a reminder of nature's power over any man-made structure.
The ruins of Ta Prohm has over thirty towers & although visitors are no longer allowed to climb the galleries that connect them, there's still a lot left to explore of the temple. There are also stalls just outside the main entrance where you can pick up some tasty local snacks while you wander through the ruins.
Hear the story of the Ta Prohm masterpiece then enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast. Continue on to the majestic smiling stone faces of the Bayon Temple, which dates back from the 12th century. It is located north of the Angkor Wat, your last stop for the morning before heading for a local stilted home where you'll learn to prepare sweet sticky rice.
In the afternoon, you'll take a short trip to a few small villages in the countryside to see verdant ricefields & take a thirty minute ox cart ride. Your day ends at the temples of Angkor & the moat of Angkor Thom.
