From Luang Prabang, you will be driven about 10 kms to the Elephant Village, a privately run centre focusing on the protection & rehabilitation of abused elephants in Laos.
Upon arrival you will meet the camp manager & hear about the work carried out by a team of dedicated staff & volunteers in caring for the elephants.
Next, you'll climb aboard an elephant for a jungle walk. You can either ride on the howdah - a wooden chair or for a more authentic experience on the neck of the elephant itself.
Then it’s time to learn some elephant whispering secrets from the mahouts. Their crash course includes tips on how to control these massive animals gently, gracefully & respectfully. Pay attention as these tips will come in handy when you give them a bath later!
After enjoying a buffet lunch at the restaurant, wander around the village & see the elephant hospital or join in feeding these gentle giants.
Next, its bath time with your elephant on the banks of the Nam Khan River. This is something you won’t soon forget.
This activity ends with a short boat trip down the river for a refreshing dip in the emerald green waters of the exquisite Tad Sae Waterfall.
